It might sound unpleasant, but beef tallow — which is fat that has been melted down from around a cow’s organs — has gained popularity as an ingredient in beauty products. Customers rave about its natural moisturizing benefits, and companies have started selling tallow-based creams to satisfy the demand. However, dermatologists caution that being natural doesn’t mean it’s safe for your face. “I do not recommend it from a scientific and dermatological standpoint,” stated Dr. Zakia Rahman, a clinical professor of dermatology at Stanford University School of Medicine.
